F is For Friday 26 July 2019

Another week left and we keep getting closer and closer to 2020 and I’m not ready. Although some excellent books are coming out in 2020 so maybe I am ready? Anyway as always Thank you to Lyn over at Nomadic Worlds for this excellent weekly meme.

How to participate in the meme:
1. Credit the creator of this tag (Nomadic Worlds) and link back.
2. Answer the four questions to the best of your ability.
3. Most important of all, enjoy yourself!

Questions:
F – Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn’t have to be your current read).
I – Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.
F – Favorite quote of the week/day.
F – Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn’t have to be your current read).

This Book! I first saw it pop up on Cait’s Instagram, and heard it’s YA Fantasy duology where Mulan meets Project Runway. I was sold! My master’s degree is in Historical Costuming and I have a degree in Fashion Design, so that part had me sold instantly. I was getting obsessed about this and THEN it came in the latest Owl Crate and now I get to read it! *giddy clapping* Sadly I’m not sure when I will get the chance to read it yet.

Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.

I have an ARC of this books which is the second in a series of sweet M/M romances that all take place in a theme park. I haven’t read the first one but have been told by the author that It’s not necessary to have read it to enjoy this one. If you want to pick either of them up they are on amazon. Rival Princes is on sale now and Mischief and Mayhem will be released on Saturday!

Favorite quote of the week/day.

Let’s all forsake,
The Land of Wake,
And break for the Land of Nod.

Where we can try,
To touch the sky,
Or dance beneath the sod.

A toll for the living,
A toll for the lost,
A toll for the wise ones,
Who tally the cost,

So let’s escape,
Due south of Wake,
And make for the Land of Nod.

Nod Nursery Rhyme from Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman

I literally right before writing this blog finished Thunderhead and am still in the WHAT JUST HAPPENED phase. But seriously who allows an author to finish a book like this? It should be illegal! I need Toll immediately! Anyway getting off track, I loved this nursery rhyme and from the first reading of it keep finding myself singing it.

Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

  1. The AusYABloggers Team which I have been invited to join, they are all great and fun!
  2. Reading books off my TBR cart!
  3. Adding Books to my TBR cart!
  4. Licorice chocolate logs to nibble on while I blog.
  5. My dog is being super cute and cuddly while I read. I know it’s mostly because it’s cold but still.

Thanks again for reading! If you take part in this Meme let me know or let me know what you plan on reading this weekend?

Brooklynne is an American born, Transgender Feminist who adores books. She currently resides in Wellington, New Zealand with her Boyfriend, Best Friend and Dog, only one of whom is not named Ryan. She enjoys all kinds of books and can often be found curled up in a corner with one glaring at said dog who refuses to cuddle.

  1. Happy Friday! Congratulations on joining the AusYABloggers team! How exciting! This weekend I’m reading for the Reading Rush Challenge – I’m currently reading I Wish You All the Best, and then will pick up Stardust (which will also finish my reading for the Book Junkie Trials). Have a wonderful weekend!
