F is For Friday: 5 July 2019

Geeze it has been over a month since I have actually done one of these. My life has been more than a bit hectic lately. Add on to being sick all of the last week, this all adds up to poor blogging life. I’m hopefully getting back on track and even getting a little ahead of this whole blogging business. As always thank you to Lyn at Nomadic Worlds for this great blog meme.

How to participate in the meme:
1. Credit the creator of this tag (Nomadic Worlds) and link back.
2. Answer the four questions to the best of your ability.
3. Most important of all, enjoy yourself!

Questions:
F – Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn’t have to be your current read).
I – Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.
F – Favorite quote of the week/day.
F – Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn’t have to be your current read).

Once & Future front cover

I literally just finished this book 10 minutes ago. and I will have a fuller review coming soon but, it was great! Definitely not the type of Sci-Fi that everyone likes. Funny too! I heard a lot of complaints about too much queer diversity. But really this book was like being around friends. This only reeks of “diversity” if your life is currently lacking it.

Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.

I got this book in a sale at my local Whitcoulls back in May and have heard amazing things about it really. I don’t have any impending ARCs due (which is usually what I reserve weekend reading for) so I think I will settle down with this. I *should* be starting the Grisha series but this is what I’m drawn towards. *shrug*

I also started the audiobook of Hot Dog Girl. I’m only like a chapter in so far but it is thoroughly a good time! I tend to listen to audiobooks more often during the week when I have crowded trains, dinner to cook, and dishes to do. I’ve been looking forward to this book for a while now.

Favorite quote of the week/day.

It’s a viper’s nest, child. I’ll not deny it. See that you have the strongest venom.

We Set The Dark On Fire, Tehlor Kay Mejia

Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

  1. New treats (Perky Nana Lumps)!
  2. Getting back in the swing of blogging
  3. No longer being sick!
  4. Book Mail! (I ordered the final copy of Rogue, Dev1at3, and Sadie, which are both books I want to read!)
  5. A Friday off in bed with my dog and a good book!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my blog. What are you looking forward to reading this weekend? Let me know below!
