In May, I had read City of Ghosts, to which Tunnel of Bones is a sequel to, and loved it. It’s the creepy kind of middle grade I thrive on when I’m feeling down. I really like that it was written from the aspect that kids are intelligent. It’s one of the more frustrating parts of middle grade fiction at times is that it acts as if kids are dumb.
Trouble is haunting Cassidy Blake . . . even more than usual.Tunnel Of Bones Synopsis
She (plus her ghost best friend, Jacob, of course) are in Paris, where Cass’s parents are filming their TV show about the world’s most haunted cities. Sure, it’s fun eating croissants and seeing the Eiffel Tower, but there’s true ghostly danger lurking beneath Paris, in the creepy underground Catacombs.
When Cass accidentally awakens a frighteningly strong spirit, she must rely on her still-growing skills as a ghosthunter — and turn to friends both old and new to help her unravel a mystery. But time is running out, and the spirit is only growing stronger.
And if Cass fails, the force she’s unleashed could haunt the city forever.
Doesn’t that sound fun? I really like the character if Cassidy Blake and Jacob is such a fun character too. I love the whole aspect of the child doing what the parents pretend to do. Victoria Schwab is an excellent author who writes a very compelling series.
