F is For Friday: 27 September 2019

Okay I know I have said this every month but really where has this month gone? I feel like I was just on holiday but also I guess in some ways it feels like September 1st was decades ago! As always thanks to Nomadic Worlds for this meme.

How to participate in the meme:
1. Credit the creator of this tag (Nomadic Worlds) and link back.
2. Answer the four questions to the best of your ability.
3. Most important of all, enjoy yourself!

Questions:
F – Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn’t have to be your current read).
I – Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.
F – Favorite quote of the week/day.
F – Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn’t have to be your current read).

It is rare that I will feature a book after I have already read it in this section. Usually, once I have read a book the obsessive need and thoughts fade a bit, replaced by the obsessive thoughts for the sequel. But this book OMG I literally cannot stop thinking about it and pushing it onto my friends and making everyone I know read it! Like you right now reading this… Go buy it NOW!

Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.

This is an upcoming Middle-Grade book that sounds really interesting and cute. Clementine is next in line for becoming the Dark Lord, like her father and every Morcerous before her. I like the idea of chosen one flipped on its head and also privileged girl having to survive on her own and not sure what or how to do so. The world seems fascinating and fun!

Favorite quote of the week/day.

As far as I’m concerned, I came out of the womb spouting cynicism and wishing for rain.

Solitaire by Alice Oseman

While I liked this quote I did not enjoy this book. I think it’s partially because I related far too hard with Tori so thus deeply disliked her. I also think having read Heartstopper Vol 1 & 2 first deeply skewed the narrative for me and made me expect a different voice for the book.

Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

  1. Finally starting Sadie and following people’s recommendations of choosing the Audiobook and it is excellent.
  2. Delicious pastries for my face hole!
  3. Getting to do something creative and fun at work
  4. I receive like 6 graphic novels I’m super keen to read
  5. My Coconut Coast Scentsy reminds me of hot days on the beach as a child.

That’s it for me this week, I hope you all are well. Any big plans for your weekend? Starting a new book? Let me know down below.
