F is For Friday: 4 October 2019

It’s October which means part of my brain says “YAY, AUTUMN!” But the rest of me has to remember that it is, in fact, spring instead. So no warm sweaters and spooky vibes. I do get pumpkin spice lattes though because Starbucks does not care, it’s fall to them! As always thank you so much to Nomadic Worlds for this meme (also if you haven’t checked her out you should!)

OMFG!!!!! I recently listened to the audiobook of Sadie as recommended by nearly everyone who I mentioned this book to and am so glad I did. I cannot stop thinking about it now. Don’t worry I have a book review coming soon, well as soon as I can stop screaming “WHAT!?!?”

Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.

This book was so very very kindly sent to me by the author way back in uhhh… *shameful look at her email* um… April! Unfortunately, I had heaps of ARC’s come in after that and then my terrible two months of blogging in July and August happened and well the short story is this is still sitting on my TBR. I build up too much pressure when it comes to books sent to me by authors, what if I hate it? Anyway, Kayleigh, if you are reading this, this weekend I’m dedicating to your mage son!

Favorite quote of the week/day.

Where Mom’s eyes were filled with concern and confusion, Scott looked at George as if his sibling made sense to him for the first time. George had never been gladder to have an older brother.

George by Alex Gino

I recently read this after being suggested to me multiple times, and GOODNESS, this was one of the most endearing and beautiful books I have ever read. It was so well written and reminded me of my own certainty at that age. This passage is after George comes out to her beef head, gamer, dudebro brother, and he was just awesome!

Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

  1. I am one book off completing my Goodreads challenge for the year.
  2. Her Royal Highness, which I’m currently reading is excellent
  3. I have been drinking my SCARE-mel Coffee from my last OwlCrate and loving it!
  4. I’m going to do some costuming this weekend for a LARP I have coming up and I’m super excited about it!
  5. Finished a big project at work that is now all done and I can relax now!

Thanks again for coming along and reading. Let me know if you have particpated in F is For Friday, I’d love to read them! What are your plans for the weekend? Any good books?

  1. I am SO stoked you liked the Sadie audiobook. I thought it was absolutely phenomenal, and I’ve been recommending it left, right, and centre, to anyone who’ll listen (lol).
I hope you get to the ARC you’ve been meaning to.
Wasn’t George just the most loveliest book ever? I adored it so much.
And I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Brooklynne!
