2020 Blog Goals

January 1, 2020

Here in New Zealand where I live, it’s the first afternoon of 2020 and I have been ruminating on my blog and what I want to achieve. I’m so proud of what I have already accomplished in 2019, which can be found in yesterday’s post, especially the friends I have made. But I know that I can and want to achieve more, I want to do big things both on this blog and in the bookish community.

So keeping this short here are the goals I have for my blog and bookish life in 2020:

Focus more on LGBTQQIA Fiction this year. The original reason I started this blog is that I felt there was a need for reviews and focus on these books to be reviewed by a Transgirl/Queer woman. I will still review all books here but I definitely want to sing the praises of my Queer family.
Take more risk, write my thoughts out more, share my opinions more. This means more blog posts like this one where I talk about why representation matters. More talking about negative trends and my opinions on why we still don’t have good transgirl fiction.
Step up my engagement. This year I have been really focused on building a solid foundation. I’m happy with my blog look and the voice of my blog. But now it’s time to get out there and make myself known. More time commenting on the blogs I follow and replying to tweets and Instagram posts.
Build a Lost In Literature Community. This is probably the big thing that I want to achieve this year. I’m thinking of creating a facebook group and having challenges. I want to do a book club where we focus on Trans/Nonbinary books.
Launch a Patreon to support the above and my blogging. I actually technically have done this one and if you are interested you can find it here. But I really want to make this a strong a thriving in order to be able to use that to put money back into the blog and the community

That’s it short and sweet. I really think these are all achievable and realistic, and I hope that come 2021 I have leveled up the blog even more. There are other plans I have including video content and more but those are less, goals and more nice to have’s at this point.

What about you do you have any big goals this year?

Thank you so much, I really want to remember why I blog and what I get from it and that’s getting to rave about excellent queer books!
