Book Love Book Cover
Book Love Humor Comic Andrews McMeel  Hardcover 137 Pages

Bookworms rejoice! These charming comics capture exactly what it feels like to be head-over-heels for hardcovers. And paperbacks! And ebooks! And bookstores! And libraries!

Book Love is a gift book of comics tailor-made for tea-sipping, spine-sniffing, book-hoarding bibliophiles. Debbie Tung’s comics are humorous and instantly recognizable—making readers laugh while precisely conveying the thoughts and habits of book nerds. Book Love is the ideal gift to let a book lover know they’re understood and appreciated.

My Thoughts:

This wee little book of funny comics was a Christmas Gift and I was so delighted. Both because I hadn’t heard of this book, I don’t pay much attention to comics outside of graphic novels, but also because it was a book about me. So soon as everything was sorted and family back on their way home I snuggled up into bed and poured through this book.

For the most part, this book is cute and funny little snippets into the average life of a book obsessed persons. I laughed at more than a few, like one where the book lover complains she has too many books on her TBR while buying more books. Another I loved is how bookies with the movie poster cover are inferior to the original cover. LEGIT.

I did find a few of the panels repetitive, and the overall appearance of only female book lovers a bit disappointing. The author definitely has a dislike for ebooks and e-readers which I find sad as it’s 2020 it’s time to leave reading elitism in the past.

Overall though it was a perfect fun light read and I really hope some of these panels get made into cards or tote bags because I would definitely buy those!

I give Book Love:

Rating: 4 out of 5.

What do you mean I have TOO MANY books? So rude =P
Absolutely yessss to the points that ebooks and e-readers are somehow “inferior” to physical books. That definitely needs to be left in the past!
Reading is reading, no matter how you do it!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the book on the whole, though. 💜
