Suddenly like a flash, we are in March, and that means an update on my #startonyourshelfathon challenge. February was a big month for me, I finished at work and am now funemployed. I also had a lot of ARC’s to read in February so that definitely affected my ability to read as much for this challenge. Luckily one of the ARCs qualified for #startonyourshelfathon, so YAY!

#startonyourshelfathon is run by The Quiet Pond and is a yearlong readathon focusing on reading the books on our shelves. At the start of this, I had 180 books on my TBR and I would really like to knock that down. Before we head into this month’s additions to the star chart I wanted to walk through what the stars mean.
Yellow is a book I read from my shelf.
Light Blue is a book that fulfilled my goal of the book that has been on my TBR the longest.
Red is a favorite book from my shelf.

My Process:
So how I have deemed a book fits in this readathon is I owned it prior to 2020 start. I am using owned in a loose way meaning that I physically own it, I own it through Audible, I have borrowed it from the library, or it was saved to my Scribd library before the 1st of January 2020. This leaves me with 4 out of 13 books I read in January.
- Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin
- Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
- Princess Princess Ever After by Katie O’Neill
- Toby Alone by Timothée de Fombelle (DNF’d)
So without any further ado, here are the stars Castor and I discovered this month!

That light blue star wasn’t sure it was going to show but when I decided to pass Toby Alone on to someone else, freeing up space on my shelf it shone brightly. It took a while for Foul is Fair to turn red but in the end, it is a new favorite of mine, it has so much to love! As for the other two, they have been on my TBR for just over a year and I’m glad to have ticked them off the list.
Are you participating in #startonyourshelfathon? It’s not too late to join!
