Rinn has grown up with the Tea Dragons that inhabit their village, but stumbling across a real dragon turns out to be a different matter entirely! Aedhan is a young dragon who was appointed to protect the village but fell asleep in the forest eighty years ago. With the aid of Rinn’s adventuring uncle Erik and his partner Hesekiel, they investigate the mystery of his enchanted sleep, but Rinn’s real challenge is to help Aedhan come to terms with feeling that he cannot get back the time he has lost.
The art in this book is just so cute and adorable and just absolutely perfect! I loved how Katie O’Neill was able to capture sign language and the overall diversity is amazing. We need more of this. I have to say I was a bit confused for about half of this book as it took way too long for the shoe to drop that this takes place BEFORE the previous book!
In this book, we have Erik and Hesekiel visiting young Rinn in their village where the Tea Dragons just kind of wander and are not bonded to any one person. We also have Aedhan an actual dragon who accidentally slept for 80 years and is trying to find his bearings. Erik and Hesekiel, are also hunting a mythical creature that could be connected.
Overall as cute as this was I found the story a bit lacking in something to make it as amazing as the first one. I still thought it was cute as and still a great story. The art is and always will be utterly *swoon*!
